Voice Lessons

Our vocal program welcomes singers of all ages and experience levels, from young children discovering their voices through music and movement to teens and adults developing healthy vocal technique and artistic expression. Lessons are tailored to each student's age, interests, and goals.

Ages 3–7: Early Childhood Voice

Our youngest singers learn through playful, age-appropriate activities that foster a lifelong love of music. Lessons emphasize creativity, confidence, and healthy vocal exploration in a fun and supportive environment.

Young singers will explore:

  • Singing through games, movement, and imaginative play

  • Pitch matching and vocal exploration

  • Rhythm activities and musical listening skills

  • Expressive singing and storytelling

  • Basic musicianship and ear training

  • Confidence, creativity, and joyful music making

Ages 8 and Up: Voice Lessons

As students grow, lessons place greater emphasis on healthy vocal technique while encouraging artistic expression across a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, musical theater, jazz, pop, rock, contemporary Christian, and singer-songwriter repertoire.

Students will develop:

  • Healthy vocal technique and breath support

  • Pitch accuracy, tone production, resonance, and vocal range

  • Musical expression and stylistic versatility

  • Repertoire tailored to individual interests and goals

  • Performance skills, stage presence, and audition preparation

  • Music theory, ear training, and sight singing

  • Effective practice habits for long-term vocal development

Our voice faculty is led by Dr. Elizabeth Turner, Director of Performing Arts at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School. She holds degrees from Berklee College of Music and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from St. Thomas University. An accomplished performer and educator, Elizabeth brings extensive experience in classical, jazz, musical theater, and contemporary vocal styles, helping students build healthy technique, confidence, and a lifelong love of singing.
