Julien Xuereb
Julien Xuereb is the founder and director of Capitol Harmony School of Music, where he teaches guitar and voice. A French guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer, Julien is known for creating unique musical experiences that blend classical and contemporary styles. His notable performances include the TEDx MidAtlantic Conference, where he shared one of his original compositions and spoke about his work in community outreach.
Julien studied at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he became the first Musician-in-Residence at the Springwell Senior Living Community—a program later featured by PBS, The Baltimore Sun, WBAL-TV, and MPT. He continues his outreach work in Washington, DC, regularly performing for patients at the cancer center of GW Hospital.
In addition to his teaching and performance work, Julien has released two albums—one dedicated to classical guitar and the other featuring original pop/rock songs in French and English. His most recent singles, Ta Route and Les P’tites Choses, were released in 2025.
Dr. Somruedi Suchitphanit
("Dr. Kwan”)
Dr. Somruedi Suchitphanit, known as Dr. Kwan, is an accomplished piano coach and co-founder of Capitol Harmony School of Music. With over two decades of teaching experience, her holistic, project-based approach blends technical training with artistic exploration, offering students an engaging and well-rounded learning experience.
She began her musical journey at age seven and entered formal pre-college training by twelve. Her dedication led her to earn a Bachelor of Music from the College of Music, Mahidol University (Thailand), a Master of Music from Westminster Choir College at Rider University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Kansas.
Dr. Kwan has taught at Westminster Conservatory, the University of Kansas, Rangsit University, and international schools. As co-founder of Round Note Music, she developed innovative, student-centered curricula. Most recently, she served as Head of Keyboard at Rugby School Thailand.
In 2024, she moved to Washington, DC, and launched Holistic Piano Coaching. Her students have won competitions and earned top exam honors. She is also an active performer, presenter, and advocate for community music engagement.
